We’ve finally arrived at the first truly packed day of the college football spring game slate, with heavy hitters like Ohio State, Michigan, and Louisville.
For Ohio State, this is a chance to continue to continue its obscene run of spring game crowd size. Some schools fudge how many butts are in seats, but Buckeyes fans absolutely deliver with crowds like this on scrimmage day.
There are other subplots to the day. You may not be able to see it on TV anywhere, but Western Michigan begins its journey without P.J. Fleck, and Louisville tries to build off an impressive start to last season, which petered out toward the end. We’ll also get a chance to look at Lamar Jackson and see if the Heisman trophy winner can give us some spring game heroics. The Tom Herman era informally begins at Texas, and Herman’s old school, Houston, begins the Major Applewhite era. USF is also playing a spring game broadcast exclusively on Facebook Live.
